Machu Picchu: The Inca citadel of the Andes mountains of Peru

Cordillera de Vilcabamba, Cuzco, Peru 🇵🇪

A spectacle that combines both the ingenuity and the artistry of the ancient Incas, the Machu Picchu isn't a world wonder without a reason.

When push comes to shove, Machu Picchu is a spectacle that shows everyone Peru's cultural heritage above all else. Though there is an estimate of 2,500 people that visit the location in a year, the place used to have a lot more visitors in the past. Yes, some of them might leave rubbish. And yes, some of them might even desecrate the place; but that doesn't reduce the place's overall beauty.

What was once a standing monument to the long-gone Inca tribe is now a heritage site that the people of Peru are proud to call their own. When the world has finally rid itself of COVID, I'll be sure to pay the Machu Picchu another visit. It's a place that's permanently etched into my heart as a place that'll be in my heart for years to come.
