When you are stressed, you are not thinking clearly.  It's hard to focus on what needs

to be done and make informed choices.  For some reason, fall is a time for depression and stress.  Here are some tips for surviving the change of season.

Stress and seasonal depression affect our bodies and minds in different ways.  Find out what the effects are and some tips to help you manage them on a daily basis.

Learn to breathe properly.

You may not notice it, but when you are stressed, your breathing is different than when you are relaxed.  It may become faster and shallower.  So it's a good idea to take deep breaths that will help you regain your composure and stay focused for more difficult situations.

Focus on one thing at the time.

Try to keep your attention on one action at a time.  Don't take on several projects at once.  Instead, focus on one specific task.  This might mean not checking email while driving, not texting while walking, and not talking on the phone while making dinner!

Don't overthink.

If you feel overwhelmed by too many events, take a deep breath and try to simplify things.  You might even consider delegating some tasks so you can spend more time with family and friends.

Be realistic about your goals.

Don't set unrealistic goals.  Instead, make sure your goal is achievable. This will help you stay motivated and focused throughout the process.

Now that you've learned these tips for freeing yourself from your inner chaos, there's no need to stress about life, which after all, should be enjoyed to the fullest!

Happy November to all!
